Morpeth site (UK)

The Morpeth site has been a part of Searle/Pharmacia/Pfizer over its 30 years history and has been the launch site for a number of products for Large pharma companies.

The Commercial formulations section at Morpeth has three segregated areas

  • General Ethical products area – engaged in manufacture of tablets and capsules of upto 3 billion units p.a.
  • Press Coated tablets area for commercial supply of “tablet in tablet” products
  • Dedicated Hormonal tablets with both fluid bed technology and high shear processes available

The site has 6 high speed blister packaging lines and also bottle packaging units. The team has supported commercial launch of products with approx 130 SKUs across 300 countries and has an extensive warehousing capability as well as distribution experience. A team of 4 Qualified Persons (QPs) at site help support the importation and supply of drug products within the EU.

Pithampur site (India)

The Pithampur site in India is engaged in commercial supply of Solid dose products and sterile ophthalmics in Blow Fill Seal (BFS) format.

  • Tablets and Capsules using wet granulation or dry compression technologies - 4 production lines with batch sizes upto 600 kgs and aggregate capacity of upto 3 billion units p.a.
  • Sterile ophthalmics and ear drops using BFS technology - products in unit-dose and muli-dose format ranging from 0.35ml vials to 30 ml vials. The site has 5 Weiler machines with aggregate capacity of 100 million units.

The site has both blister packaging lines and bottle packaging units. Full range of analytical support and ICH stability services are available at the site. A pilot plant with batch sizes upto 60Kgs is available for scale up studies and registration batches.

Bangalore site (India)

The Bangalore site in India is scheduled to come on stream in June 2009 and will be engaged in commercial supply of sterile injections. The site at present does not envisage Lyophilisation capability which is expected to be augmented in phase II of the project.

The Bangalore site will have two sterile filling lines with batch sizes of upto 1400 litres and filling lines catering to 2ml to 30ml vials. The site will also have the flexibility to manufacture ampoules
